This weekend, we were able to go on a similar journey, but, this time, with a guide. The experience was a million times better. I learned facts that could not be taught from walking into an old building and reading a plaque. Our guide took on the role of a slave woman who had bought her freedom, and her spunk was absolutely perfect in bringing the tour alive.
Although, this time around, we only saw small parts of the trail (rather than all 3 miles), it was absolutely spectacular to be shown around by a real person. We saw the graves of Paul Revere, John Hancock, the Franklin family, and (possibly) Mother Goose, as well as the sites of the Boston Massacre and Boston Tea Party. Being shown around by such an amazing guide truly brought history to life and this part of our trip is one I will never forget.
